Antonia Penia is an award-winning visual artist and fine art–driven commercial photographer, based in London and working internationally.
Her work has been exhibited worldwide, including PhotoEspaña, TIAF Toronto, Paris, Prague, London, and Peru, and she has received prestigious awards such as the Portrait of Britain Award (2022), the Young Creator of the Year Award (2008, Feria de Arte Contemporáneo, Madrid), and her project The Warrior of My Life was a finalist at the AOP Awards 2023. Retrospectives of her work have been presented at the Cervantes Institute in Prague and Manchester, including solo and group exhibitions in major international art institutions.
Alongside her artistic practice, Penia collaborates with brands, publishers, and cultural institutions seeking a distinctive visual language and a strong, coherent identity. She specializes in commercial photography, brand storytelling, editorial campaigns, lifestyle and conceptual imagery, combining fine art sensibility with commercial impact.
Working across photography, video, and performance, her personal projects explore identity, the human body, psychology, and women’s experiences, often through self-portraiture. All her artistic work is shot primarily on film, with no retouching, preserving authenticity and visual integrity.
Penia is also a Photography Educator at the National Portrait Gallery Museum, a Guest Lecturer at the London College of Fashion, and now teaching at the London School of Photography, guiding students to explore visual storytelling, creativity, and well-being. Trained as a therapeutic photography facilitator under The Look Again Methodology, she inspires students to explore the healing potential of photography.
